Some people are really not into public speaking, they absolutely hate standing and speaking in front of so many people. What more if you have to make your own wedding anniversary speech and speak about your own experience about married life. Making your own speech is really just easy, if you have some guidelines that you can follow all throughout.
The very idea of speaking in public is really nerve wrecking, in dealing with this kind of situation, all you have to do is remember is the three rules of public speaking, tell them what your speech is about, tell them about it and the last thing is make a summary of what you have just told them. When speaking, try to make your tone gentle and cheerful. Try to include funny lines to make your audience laugh and smile.
Acknowledge all the people who have helped you and your spouse along the way. Let them know that you appreciate their concern, help and any other thing that they may have help you with in your marriage. Thank everyone who has made that gathering possible. If you are the husband, thank the family of your wife for bringing her into this world. Those who have helped you come up with your speech.
You can also call the attention of some of the friends that really have been a big help for your and your spouse. Single those out in the crowd so that you can let them know that they are highly appreciated. This is your chance to thank them personally, so grab it. Do not also forget the one, who spent for the occasion, if it is your families thank them, if it is someone else, do the same.
The next thing to do is propose a toast, for your spouse, your in-laws, your parents and the last one to everybody who attend the event. You can also tell something funny when you give your last toast.
If you are someone who has been asked to make a wedding anniversary speech, you can try including how you and the couple have met. Embarrass the groom in a nice and funny way, it will surely be appreciated.
